To sleep, perchance to nap
Aug. 4th, 2006 03:01 pmSo... this week I have been mostly catching up on things, semi-successfully (the semi- because I don't think I will ever catch up on sleep again. I think when my fossilised skull is dug up 5 million years in the future, the squid-descended palaeontologists will take one look at it and say "Nah, put the ape back, it needs another few millennia.")
This is my own fault, of course. I didn't have to stay up late reading The Ptolemy Gate or Jingo. (Well, I did a bit.) Have also enjoyed a book I was lent called Resenting The Hero- this features instant magical lifebonds that are a damn nuisance and don't result in True Love. It was fun. I've been reading more books than usual at the same time, whizzing through a Thurber while leaving the Fellowship stuck in Lothlorien. They don't seem to mind.
Went to see Bill Bailey at the BAC. Brilliant. ( Read more... )
And oh yes, really enjoyed Time Trumpet last night. Mixture of satire and silliness. Iannucci! Lee! Ayoade! Blair and Cameron singing "Changes"!
