(Well, no, I'm not. But I did read my flist on the train on Sunday. This century is in-sane.)

I got home to find a yellowing geranium, and five dead flies in the bathroom. While this is obviously better than five live flies, I did have to wonder, why five of them? Why the bathroom? And why dead? Is my bathroom poisonous? [1] Were they really, really horrified by the tiling? Or perhaps did a very small mass suicide cult form among flies who felt that a house with all the food shut away was a sign of the coming apocalypse and they should go and join the big bluebottle in the, well, sky I suppose?
(Actually there were a couple of live ones in the house as well. I say "were" advisedly, they got murderised with Groucho Marx's memoirs, which was about the only book to hand I didn't mind getting fly guts on.)

My bread machine arrived! It can cope with entirely wholemeal flour, [2] and it's got a raisin dispenser and a second, funny-shaped, paddle, for mixing rye (or spelt) loaves. I don't have any rye (or spelt) flour yet, but I will.

The Prospective New House needs a damp-proof course. I frown in the direction of all previous owners. (I guess the ones from before they were invented are let off.)

Channel Dave has the Shark Hat demographic completely sewn up. Srsly. (Maybe I'm a Male, 18-35, without knowing it.) There's pretty much nothing I'm watching on proper TV this month, but Dave is full of reruns of QI, Mock The Week, Buzzcocks, HIGNFY, Whose Line... (Jeremy! [3] Jeremy and John Oliver on the same episode of MtW! Cuddliness overload!- I guess I'm not a Male 18-35 after all, unless wanting to give Jeremy Hardy a big hug is a particularly blokey thing.)
Maybe I should do a resolutionette. Less of the vegging out, more of the going swimming. When it gets a bit warmer. Yes. (August, then.)

[2] The wholemeal-and-five-seed loaf I had the first slice of this morning is very good. Well, actually it's only four-seed as I substituted millet for the poppy and sunflower seeds, but it's still good. I can stop buying supermarket bread, yay.
[3] Not that Jeremy.
