Aug. 7th, 2008 03:30 pmI got the first series of the Man From UNCLE when I was in America. I've only watched two episodes, but so far:
It's The Man from UNCLE. Never mind Solo and his so-called charm, where's Illya??
We're two for two on the "Villains tie up Solo and a girl, set off implausible device to kill them in a few hours, exposit the evil plan, leave so they can escape" thing. Honestly. What sort of recruitment ads was Thrush running?
Actually, the girls are pretty impressive for the time- not much twist-ankle-and-shriek, and definite signs of agency. Possibly this is because of lack of Illya? If you've only got one sidekick, they need to be reasonably competent?
And my phone turned up. It's surprising how often putting something in the logical place leads to not being able to find it...
