Aug. 26th, 2008 02:50 pmSeen over the weekend: swifts racing over a lawn; a dragonfly having a rest on a bench; an earwig in a rose; a bee baffled by a teasel; a golden eagle in a high street.
Harrogate was lovely, although a surprising amount of things were shut. Harlow Carr gardens had an interesting kitchen garden, a nice scented garden, a decent herb garden, meadow, and lakeside walk, a rather disappointing set of historical gardens ("hang on, surely if that was what gardens had looked like in the seventies, we'd remember it?"), a very irritating Betty's tea shop (food 7/10, service 3/10), and a stunning Grand Border. .
B. also helped me get a new microwave home and plant manymany bulbs. A+ Guest, would invite again.
