Hugely impressive and more importantly, massively fun. Charles Ross plays Frodo, Gandalf, Bilbo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Aragorn, a Ringwraith, Saruman, a moth, an Eagle, Elrond (my favourite character- it was the eyebrows), Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, a cave troll, the Balrog, Galadriel, an Uruk-hai leader, Gollum, Eomer, Theoden, Wormtongue, Eowyn, Treebeard, a fellbeast, the Dead in the Water, Faramir, Denethor, the King of the Dead, Shelob, Gorbash, Snaga, Sauron, assorted orcs and spearcarriers, the armies of Isengard, Rohan, Minas Tirith and Mordor, and the background music; mostly with the words of the films, with the odd aside like "change the disc"; the real pleasure, I thought, was not so much in seeing each character or moment as in the flow between them. There were a couple of people who hadn't seen the films or read the books in the audience, and I'm not sure how much they'll have got out of it, but for anyone who has, I bet you'd really like this show. This is video and stuff from his earlier show, One Man Star Wars.

The support was Danny Pensieve, a socially inadequate character in a duffle coat with a very singsong Geordie accent, who was enjoyable.

Rhod Gilbert having anger management issues all over the stage; very funny in an "if you like Rhod Gilbert you'll like this tour" kind of way.
Someone shouted out at the end for him to do the luggage routine, and he sort of did a hybrid version of that and the service station bit and telling off this person, using a small table as the prop, which was ridiculous.
