Books bought: Only 2, v.g.
Time had by all: good
Intentions of doing more detailed report for list this morning: good
Destination of road paved with good intentions: Well-known
One of the books I got was The Hallowed Hunt (Forbidden Planet has the US paperback in). I don't know if it isn't as well written as the other ones in that world or if it's just that I'm spotting stylistic tics more, but there are short sections now and again that are making me notice the writing a bit too much ("oh look, religion infodump!") Nevertheless, I'm very gripped. I love how brave Ijada's being, and the poet with the bear! and a new kind of magic! I don't know what ending to hope for, the more you find out about everything the worse it looks for Ingrey, poor man. Complex and good.
Put Hexwood to one side for the new book. One of the conversations about DWJ's books was about this one, and how even on rereads when you know who everyone is it's still hard to work out what's going on when!
