So I went to Amused Moose in Soho on Saturday night- Richard Herring, Simon Amstell, Julia Moris (it seemed slightly odd to me that she headlined, never having heard of her. Still, she was funny.) And to the Comedy Store on Sunday- the Comedy Store Players, with Eddie Izzard as one of the group. I'm not sure what further thoughts I have about them, so I'll do a ( cut in anticipation of babbling. )
The library had the first of Val McDermid's Lindsay Gordon stories in, which I hadn't read before. It seems quite woodenly written in comparison to the later ones, and I'm noticing things like head-hopping POVs (how annoying to read authors talking about process and become aware of these things!). Can't work out whodunnit, though, so she's doing something right. A plus is the setting- the Peak District, lovely.
Goodness, must have some lunch and listen to ISIHAC. Incidentally, BBC7 is rerunning The Masterson Inheritance at the moment, which is an improvised saga of many generations of the Masterson family, with Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, et al.
