Why did I just find myself singing "Suddenly toadflax" TTTO "Suddenly Seymour"? I mean, what?
Does this mean a) that I'm in such need of sweet understanding that I should seek it from a plant? (To be fair, it certainly wouldn't give me guidance, or indeed condescend.) B) That this this is "Brain Randomly Substituting Two-syllable Words Day" and I need to be aware that I may tell people to hedgehog on a link? C) That my blood sugar is dangerously low and I need chocolate?

(There are so many questions in life to which the answer is "chocolate.")
(Sorry to all the people who've been earwormed with "Suddenly Seymour." It could be worse.)

A) The toadflax might be a bit standoffish, though.

C) Is never wrong. But there's not much sugar in chocolate. You might have to eat a little more to make up for it.

Yes, frankly I never feel plants pay that much attention when you talk to them.

Or maybe you are just showing signs of a strange condition that runs in the female line for at least 2 previous generations?

Oh, that too. But where did toadflax suddenly pop up from, is all.

I'd really worry if it had been something that isn't in your garden. And something like aconite, or datura, now, could be of serious concern, not just syllabically. Toadflax just puts a new complexion on the song.
